Overview
FastBack 6.11 hands-on lab is available in two forms.
1. BPs and IBMers can sign up to take it on our remote machines.
2. IBMers can down-load the lab and run it on their own machines.
These labs are a great way to gain hands on experience with FastBack. They can also be used to show the "live" product
to your customers.
Details
1. Remote Hands-on Lab for IBMers and BPs . This 4 hour lab is available October 19-29. IBMers and BPs can sign up for a 6 hour slot to run this on our remote lab machines.

This lab focuses on the enhancements introduced in FastBack 6.1.1, the biggest enhancement of which is the ability to use a Tivoli Storage Manager server’s storagepool as a FastBack DR repository, and then to be able to restore directly from the Tivoli Storage Manager server back to a FastBack client. This lab will provide the opportunity to become familiar with FastBack 6.1.1. This lab takes about 4 hours to complete. |

You are invited to participate in this newly released remote training lab for IBM Tivoli FastBack 6.1.1. Remote Lab. This remote hands-on session is being offered four times daily (M-F) from Tuesday, October 19 through Friday, October 29, 2010. Access to each remote lab machine is being provided in 6-hour sessions. |

If you install this lab on your own hardware, instead of using Enablement’s machines you will need:
Zipped download size: 17 GB
Full size: 55 GB
Memory: 5 GB available/usable memory for the guest VMs, this means the machines need 6 GB physical memory with a Host Operation
Host OS: System that can provide 5 GB available memory for the VM guests. E.g. CentOS or Windows 2003, (Windows 2007, Windows 2008 Windows XP does not work !)
VMware: VMware Workstation 6.5 or higher pre-installed
CPU: - 64 bit capable CPU
BIOS:- VT Virtualization switch enabled in the BIOS (machine needs to be powered off and on to enable this feature)
Network: No network or Internet access required
PDF: PDF Viewer
USB: USB 2.0 Ports
3. On-demand remote hands-on Lab for IBMers & BPs COMING SOON. We will offer this lab on our remote on-demand machines. These remote machines can be reserved for an entire day. The machines will have the images pre-loaded. If you are unable to attend the Oct 19-29 lab, or if you want to schedule additional time, this will be a great option.

This lab will provide the opportunity to become familiar with FastBack 6.1.1. Upon completion of this lab you will be able to:
1. Utilize FastBack server repository data deduplication:
2. Install and import FB reporting
3. Send deduplicated disaster recovery data to the TSM server.
4. Do a file restore from a TSM server to a Windows FastBack client.
5. Run an instant restore of a volume from the TSM server to a Windows FastBack Client.
