Overview

This lab focuses on the enhancements introduced in FastBack 6.1.1, the biggest enhancement of which is the ability to use a Tivoli Storage Manager server’s storagepool as a FastBack DR repository, and then to be able to restore directly from the Tivoli Storage Manager server back to a FastBack client. This lab will provide the opportunity to become familiar with FastBack 6.1.1.  This lab takes about 4 hours to complete.

Objectives

1.     Utilize FastBack server repository data deduplication
2.     Install and import FB reporting
3.     Send deduplicated disaster recovery data to the TSM server
4.     Do a file restore from a TSM server to a Windows FastBack client
5.     Run an instant restore of a volume from the TSM server to a Windows FastBack Client

You are invited to participate in this newly released remote training lab for IBM Tivoli FastBack 6.1.1. Remote Lab.  This remote hands-on session is being offered four times daily (M-F) from Tuesday, October 19 through Friday, October 29, 2010. Access to each remote lab machine is being provided in 6-hour sessions.
